UBIqube MSActivatorTM Product overview
Empowering converged Managed Services
MSActivatorTM is the corner stone of UBIqube’ Service Provider Solutions Suite. As a next generation Service Delivery platform, it is key to Service Providers, System Integrators, and MSSPs launching integrated managed network and security services.
The MSActivatorTM converged solution features full service lifecycle management from staging, provisioning, ITIL based configuration, and asset management. It is designed to be integrated into a Service Provider’s existing BSS/OSS/CRM environment.
The MSActivatorTM services portfolio is enabled over routers, Firewalls, UTMs, etc. Services activated range from VPN, VoIP, to a complete suite of security specific services (Firewall, IDS/IPS, Content filtering, monitoring etc.).
The MSActivatorTM allows the Service Provioder Managed Services portfolio is expanded beyond the traditional range, unifying network, security, VoIP services space.
Predefined configuration profiles and advanced automation result in faster and more cost efficient service delivery while reducing human erro. The multi-tenant, web-based GUI (VSOC), simplifies service management in a multi-vendor and multi-technology environment. A unified web interface provides greater business model flexibility enabling creative service fulfilment scenarios involving different parties.
The MSActivatorTM software is installed in a carrier class NOC/SOC for service delivery and management. Managed services operators can access the platform regardless of their physical location, and therefore deal with customer issues on the spot.
Combining the MSActivatorTM with UBIqube’s management appliance the SmartSOC-SATM (Service Agent), provides the Service Provider with yet another unique value proposition in the Managed Services industry. The SmartSOC-SATM appliance is installed on customer premises acting as a remote service agent and a local archiving device. In a context of greater regulatory compliancy concerns, this hosted approach to managed services is the appropriate response for a number of large accounts and administrations.
Features :
Web interface: The VSOC, (Vitual SOC), is Web-based GUI, provides a unified, intuitive, and vendor agnostic interface. The abstraction level removes the complexity of managing a heterogeneous IT environment and hence ease the daily job of service fulfillment and management staff. The VSOC is customizable and can serve as the portal for an ecosystem of channel partners reselling managed services. Last but not least it serves as a converged reporting portal for the end-user subscribing to the services.
Device staging and provisioning: The staging and provisioning workflow streamlines the set-up of new devices with a zero touch deployment approach.
Profile-based rule definition: Templates are used to configure network and security policies. Rolling menus of predefined profiles for VPN, Firewall, IPS, Anti-Virus, Anti-Spam, URL-filtering and VoIP, are available for large scale deployments. It speeds up the service delivery, minimizes human errors and guarantees overall consistency.
Asset management: This feature provides inventory management for services, hardware, firmware and licences. It provides a lifecycle approach to managing devices and services.
Change management: In addition to the profile-based approach, the MSActivatorTM includes device configuration change management. Configurations are collected automatically and maintained in the ITIL compliant CMDB. Operators are automatically alerted when changes occur and can roll-back to a previous configuration.
Monitoring: The solution monitors default Key Performance Indicators (KPI) in real-time. Open monitoring profiles can easily be created to add custom KPI, in addition to the default ones. The MapView, the embedded graphical monitoring console, displays in real-time, the status of the devices, the associated KPI and alerts.
Reporting: The solution centrally collects, classifies, analyses, and archives logs and events received from the managed assets. It automatically computes security dashboards, Top 5 events and alerts, event history and summary reports. User friendly detailed pdf reports are available via the VSOC interface. Combined with a tamper proof log archiving engine, these reports are used to demonstrate compliancy with SOX, Basel II, HIPAA and PCI recommendations.
Scalable and carrier class: The MSActivatorTM engine is multi-thread, multi-daemon and takes advantage of multi-core central processing units for scalability purposes. The modular architecture enables easy migration and updates of each MSActivatorTM module. Adding servers to support the growth of the customer or services scope is no longer cumbersome and painful process.
